Strain-Rate Effect on Anisotropic Deformation Characterization and Material Modeling of High-Strength Aluminum Alloy Sheet

Aluminum alloy sheets are widely applied as structure components in automotive, aircraft and other industries to realize lightweight. Nowadays, many high strain rate forming techniques have been developed improve their formability widen application. To ensure the reliability of aluminum under conditions, it is imperative develop a thorough understanding alloy’s mechanical properties. In this paper, taking high-strength 6XXX sheet an example, anisotropic deformation characterization corresponding material models at various strain-rate conditions investigated systematically. The hardening curves plastic yielding stresses were achieved based on quasi-static uniaxial tensile test split Hopkinson bar tests. study, Johnson–Cook model two yield functions well describe strain-rate-dependent behavior. addition, fractographic fractured samples measured compared. study systematically investigates influence behavior gives basic experimental data for application engineering fields future.
